By analysing enterprise risk data through an audit lens, the function is creating a more dynamic and forward-looking approach to risk assessment, audit planning, and assurance delivery, helping audit become more intelligent, proactive, and responsive to emerging risks.

Polly Smith is Head of Internal Audit for Group and Global Functions and BGIUK Functions at Bupa, bringing more than nine years’ experience within Bupa’s Internal Audit team. Polly is passionate about the role of AI, data analytics, and innovation in transforming and future-proofing internal audit. She is focused on using data-driven insights to enhance audit effectiveness, deliver greater value to the business and support internal audit in responding to an evolving risk landscape.
