In this hands-on session, we will explore two ways to quickly perform Benford’s Law on ones or thousands of datasets. First, we’ll build an interactive dashboard using Power BI. The dashboard will quickly identiy high-risk time periods and auditable areas. Second, we’ll implement Benford’s Law using Claude to provide further explain our results. These techniques could be useful for continuous auditing or risk assessment for an individual engagement.
About Speakers
Daniel McCarville is a research statistician and audit analytics leader. His published research implements new tools for Benford’s Law, while his book Modern Benford’s Law provides a comprehensive overview of the most powerful techniques available. He is also AVP for Internal Audit at Arch Capital Services, where he leads data analytics, AI, and automation.
